Fuentes and her family fled to a room when the wind picked up. Then they heard an enormous crack. The pine tree fell from the sky and smashed several windows, as well as a part of their family’s car.

The county was also affected by coastal flooding, which occurred in areas like Garden City and Cherry Grove. Horry County Schools closed school Monday due to concerns about the road conditions, and access to some schools.
Bell stated that county officials had not yet released estimates of storm damage, but they hoped to know more about its impact on Monday. The NWS would have crews out on the morning of Monday to survey damage.
Maria Aguirre de Naranjo, of Village Drive in Socastee, had a tree that was large fall on her house and destroy it. The storm destroyed her house and at least five other houses on Village Drive. They had been already condemned by code enforcement.
Aguirre De Naranjo, a mother of four, said that her daughter, 15, and granddaughter, 4, were in the bathroom when her power was cut. They heard a loud crack, then a large tree fell on their home, causing the roof to collapse.
Aguirre De Naranjo stated that a part of the fallen tree fell on the debris they had gathered in the bathroom. Aguirre De Naranjo was still shaking and holding some ceiling debris in her hair several hours after the accident.
