Two tires that belonged to the criminal were found in his home. A complaint was filed with San Juan Police regarding those exact two wheels.
The Robbery-and Theft Section of Police Headquarters found the suspected perpetrators of tire thefts who were operating in various parking lots and neighborhoods, leaving the victims with no way to move their cars.
After receiving several complaints they looked for evidence in the areas where thefts occurred. They focused on tires and used technology to determine the culprit.
The police were able to identify the locations where the criminal had marked the crime, such as the parking lot used for the theft, and they followed their traces.

A search warrant was issued by the Third Court of Instruction to conduct a search of a house in the Municipal district where two wheels were stolen and taken from a victim of the UDAP area.
The judge intervening also ordered that the perpetrator be arrested, as well as the clothes used in the robbery, and the vehicle the thief drove, from which he loaded tires so he could escape.
Unknown detainee was held in cells at the Crimes Section of Police Headquarters. The owner of the confiscated items, including the wheels, were recognized.
